I always wondered what rooms are for, we never used them in AAA. I think their just a waste of forum space, why don't we just make a lobby instead? Seems much less lonely then a single room to someone, would be pretty depressing to keep talking to themselves.

Rooms are so that if people wanna contact you without going to PM, they can just post here. It also allows for three or more members to have a chat on the forums without a hundred other conversations going on around them or a hundred other people butting in, as you would with a big full lobby of busy people.
Plus this way people actually know what dorm people are in.
And it makes people have a sense of belonging.
